Just when I think I don't believe in fate...
or any of that crap, something happens that smacks so resolutely of a “NO” from the universe that I begin to wonder. I can’t decide if this is a door closing, or simply half-shut, or a sign that I’m meant to go somewhere else and do something better. Either way, just when I’d finally made up my mind, literally hours later I get news that makes me seriously question...

The USPS is ending the Santa letter reply program. I don’t know if any of you ever sent a letter to Santa Claus when you were 4 years old and got a handwritten letter in reply, but I did, and it is sad to think that the magic has to end.
