Just when I think I don't believe in fate...
or any of that crap, something happens that smacks so resolutely of a “NO” from the universe that I begin to wonder.  I can’t decide if this is a door closing, or simply half-shut, or a sign that I’m meant to go somewhere else and do something better.  Either way, just when I’d finally made up my mind, literally hours later I get news that makes me seriously question...

I think I have figured out the problem...
This is from Stuff Hipsters Hate (on Tumblr…new favorite blog?) Daytime Dates Technically, nary a hipster would actually call a date a date, but for the sake of simplicity I shall henceforth refer to these drunken forays into the tortured realm of romance thusly. When a hipster male begins courting a hipster female, he will rarely ask said female to “hang” during daylight hours. Nay, often...

How Privacy Vanishes Online, a Bit at a Time -... →
Scary, scary… After Googling myself yesterday, it’s actually a bit alarming how much of my personal information you can find in just a few seconds using relatively unsophisticated search methods.  Any suggestions on how to become more Google-proof?  (Please don’t suggest deactivating Twitter/Facebook/etc. because the pages are already archived….)

Every one of these is totally and completely true.  But unavoidable.  And fun, if you have a somewhat fucked up definition of “fun.”

Grinch! North Pole irked at end to Santa replies  →
The USPS is ending the Santa letter reply program.  I don’t know if any of you ever sent a letter to Santa Claus when you were 4 years old and got a handwritten letter in reply, but I did, and it is sad to think that the magic has to end.
